yesterday a boat dropped us off on a privater island where it was literally just me and my husband for four hours we had a picnic and snorkeled with fish and stingrays apparently there were sharks there too but i didnt see them thank god** it was amazing
we made some british friends who we knew were british at first glance because they were the only couple at the bar every night and the manager says french and italians dont drink at bar they nurse a glass of wine all night plus they were smoking ciggies
i love the british
so they tell us about the sharks that swim under our bungalows every night literally about three to five feet long apparently if you You Tube Vahine Island u can see them fight so check it out
first night i saw them i had a Jaws nightmare but today i was swimming with them supposedly they dont eat people but apparebntly they are pickier eaters then my dog
they swim around our overwater bungalow all night but wont comle under our glass coffee table to feed them last night we brought an eight ounce piece of steak; same of ostrich; veal; duck; chicken from our mixed grill dinner i only had a few bites so i could see sharky PLUS our bacon from breakfast to lure theml under our coffee table for a photo where it awasnt too dark
i felt like i was feeding my dog*olivia
tonight we might fly in some sashimi from japan and see if that works
baclk to the british who convinced us to go scuba diving with them today our appt was at 2pm but boat shows up two hours early and says sorry he is early but a french guy died last night off the coast of this island across the way snorkeling and fishing i guess the fishing line got caught and pulled him under he was a french touritst on honeymoon so sad and scared us a lot but he was fishing alone at night not smart so our guide went to get his body
side note is that our british friends told us its super expensive to transport dead bodies home its about 100,000 bucks and awhile ago in london an indian family tried to sneak their dead granny on a plane who had been dead for two weeks
apparently they got her past security but not onto the plane they got caught when they asked granny to get up to get on plane
they knew she was dead but wanted to get her back to india for 800 bucks instead of 100,000 bucks true story
ok we get to scuba coral garden and jump off the boat brett who was initially heistant to scuba tdive was cool as a cucumber; i on the other hand jumped out of boat and have a panic attack tell the group i cant breathe underwater and dont want to go
nice british girl sophie gets me to calm down and thanks to yoga and doga breaths i breathe just fine
s
scuba instructor; french man; takes me to botto,m of sea about 15 feet my ears are killing me so he keeps taking me up and bringing me back down** u could tell he wasdnt a fan of me he wasnt nice the british said it was because hes french
no offense lobna u are one of the nicest girls i know
brett of course is fine i am no longer panicking but just in pain after a few painful descents i go back to the boat i was sad to miss it but didnt want to lose my hearing for life just to see some fish oh and i did see some and a stingray under there anyaways
brett had an amazing dive and took lots of photos
ok back to the british they are awesome we were comparing wedding notes
first of all they flew here on an Emirates plane from Dubai where they had their own suite with a shower on the plane we on the other hand got to board southewest flight first on way to LA because i asked if we could because we were just married
i also asked the deli guy for a free potato salad since it was our honeymoon and he gave it to us; i felt cool about the free potato salad while our british friends got free bottles of Dom P champagne which is almost as good as free potato salad
ok but we started comparing wedding notes and how much alcohoil they had versus us
we had about 200ish guests and this is the alcohol we bought
48 bottles champane
72 bottles white wine
48 bottles red wine
8 bottles wine for sangria
228 bottles beer
5 handels vodka
4' handles rum for mojitos
british friends had 120 guests so 80 less drinkers than us they had for alcohol
165 bottles champagne
150 bottles white wine
150 bottles red wine
80 bottles rose
1000 bottles of beer *oh u brits
8 handles of Jack Daniels
8 handles of vodka
8 handles of gin
8 handles of rum
1 handle of Contrieu*
1 handle of tequila
1 handle of Jagermeister
100 cuban cigars * we had about 50 at rehersal dinner and after party
Anne dont u think Trevor and Patrick should move to London?
mom tell dad they got married on Isle of Wight where my aunt the nun lives
everyone who helped fund our honeymoon thanks a zillion its incredible so far and we are having so much fun being married and wearing our wedding rings
last night it was raining for ten minutes so we had a rain dance in our room and the rain went away
brett is so funny and just so great i feel so lucky we are having too much fun
also thanks everyone for ,making our wedding ridiculously fun
it was the best night of our lives and we will never forget it....
update from the homefront we r busy reading a british magazine article titled IM 22 STONE BUT ILL ONLY LOSE WEIGHT IF I GET PAID MORE BENEFITS about some lady who got the gov to pay for her gastric bypass but now is piling the pounds back on because she is no longer labeled disabled and unfit for work and lost her gov benefits
its a goodie
so last night i brought sashimi back from dinner and fed the shark who finally came under our glass tank so we could get a closer look of Tahitian jaws
today we snorkeled in our private coral garden it was amazing tomorrow we leave for one day in Papeete and then on to JAPAN
the british have left the island on a helicopter because they didnt want to be bothered with a wait at the airport
we r still vying for our second helping of free potato salad
we will keep you posted....
